Homemade Oreos

My friend and I made these amazing Homemade Oreos during this week. They were fun and easy to make. These are very good sweet homemade oreos but when you think of actual oreos they are very un-sweet. they are actually kind of on the salty side, which is a contrast to the sweetness of the oreo filling bringing a perfect yummy contrast.  If you want the cookie closer to the original take out about a half cup of the sugar. If you want to make the cookie by itself use the usual amount. We actually changed the filling to a  Birthday Cake filling by Adding about a half a cup of cake mix and a Tbls of Milk. This is our favorite way to make it. We got the idea from the  Limited Edition Birthday Cake Oreos for there 100th birthday.

Makes 25 to 30 sandwich cookies

For the chocolate wafers: 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup unsweetened Dutch process cocoa 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 to 1 1/2 cups sugar [see recipe note] 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons (1 1/4 sticks) room-temperature, unsalted butter 1 large egg

For the filling: 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) room-temperature, unsalted butter 1/4 cup vegetable shortening 2 cups sifted confectioners’ sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  1. Set two racks in the middle of the oven. Preheat to 375°F.
  2. In a food processor, or bowl of an electric mixer, thoroughly mix the flour, cocoa, baking soda and powder, salt, and sugar. While pulsing, or on low speed, add the butter, and then the egg. Continue processing or mixing until dough comes together in a mass.
  3. Take rounded teaspoons of batter and place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet approximately two inches apart. With moistened hands, slightly flatten the dough. Bake for 9 minutes, rotating once for even baking. Set baking sheets on a rack to cool.
  4. To make the cream, place butter and shortening in a mixing bowl, and at low speed, gradually beat in the sugar and vanilla. Turn the mixer on high and beat for 2 to 3 minutes until filling is light and fluffy.
  5. To assemble the cookies, in a pastry bag with a 1/2 inch, round tip, pipe teaspoon-size blobs of cream into the center of one cookie. Place another cookie, equal in size to the first, on top of the cream. Lightly press, to work the filling evenly to the outsides of the cookie. Continue this process until all the cookies have been sandwiched with cream. Dunk generously in a large glass of milk.
  6. Enjoy

Cupcake I made

Cupcake I made

Making these were so much fun

So my mother and I had to make a whole bunch of cupcakes for a Birthday party. The theme of the Birthday was Eggs. Some of them however had absolutely nothing to do with Eggs. It was so much fun to do!!! OK so we did cheat and use cake mixes. However there is a secret to making them still moist and not as crumbly. So on the back of a cake mix it calls for 1 cup of water 3 Eggs and 1/3 cup oil. Never mind that instead you replace the 1 cup of water with 1 cup of butter milk, 4 eggs instead of three, but you still use the same amount of oil. If you want to add a flavor to your cupcake you can add a bopx of jello if you want to. Ypu can find one of the four cupcake we made at  https://geeksforfashion.wordpress.com/2012/03/30/cupcake-i-made/ .Well thats a few tips Thankyou ever so much for reading

How many of you like someone but over half the time they just make you so angry. Here is something I am going to say to you Guys out there. Some may be pretty harsh so If I offend you I am sorry…

1. Guys notice all the effort a girl puts into you. I mean seriously I know what it is like to work on your hair for over an hour to get it perfect for that special someone, but does he notice? No! So guys notice it even if it is a little thing to you, it’s big for her.

2 Stop looking at her butt and body and listen to her. Actually listen, don’t zone out. When you find someone who actually listens and cares about what you are saying you want to spend every moment with them.

3 Make her feel special. Don’t be a Douche. Make her feel loved. Tell her she is beautiful. Treat her like a princess and be her knight in shining armour.

4 Stick by her through hard times. (You know who you are) Don’t dump her for something that is a stupid reason. You of all people should be there to comfort her, not make her feel worse and wonder what she did wrong when it was really all you.

Well that was just a FEW things I have to say about this subject. If you want to hear more go to this really cool guys page called Iloveherso. He gives great advice. I would like to give a shout out to my friend David for being a great example for all guys. David, thanks for being a great friend through everything. Now it wouldn’t be fair unless I said somethings to the girls.

1 Be yourself don’t get all crazy. I know that once you find out a guy likes you, you tend to act differently. Stay calm and be yourself.

2 Give the Guy a chance to talk. He probably has some good things to say to. So quit talking about yourself or how you broke your nail and listen to him.

3 Understand that he tries. If he cancels a date it may be because he just can’t go, he may have work, or his mom won’t let him come (that is if he still lives with his mom). So don’t be like like “Omg he canceled, he is like the worst person ever. He must not like me” Boo hoo go cry me a river, it’s not really becoming of someone to do that. To break up with someone just because or one little thing.

Thats all I have to say… for now. I know I was going to talk about food but had this on my mind and needed to get it out.

Till next time

It is super good!!! They were supposed to be brownies but they came out as cake. Its always fun to bake with a friend.

Little Perfectionist

Really, this cake was a brownie failure. But it turned out so good. So good. So I decided to post some yummy pictures and the recipe. I’ll try to approximate the exact ingredient measurements, but mostly I just winged the measurements. I’m no pro, guys. I hope you like it though!
